The Artist Action Plan-plain talk for non-whiners

Developing a strong work ethic has never stunted any artist’s creativity. And whoever thinks that is simply looking for an easy out! So with that in mind, if you need your ego stroked and your hand held, and my “get ‘er done” directness offends you, there are plenty of other bloggers making big money soft peddling the “artist life fantasy!” So I won’t apologize for skipping the feel good stuff because if you are serious about making a living with your art, you will be more interested, and won’t mind, getting down to brass tacks and making a Plan of Action for the year! :-)

An artist’s business plan and a bottle of wine

If you read our advice on creating and artist’s business plan and think “but I just want to be an artist” or “so and so’s online advice seems easier”, then you are buying into the fantasy world that non-working artists are promoting and will have to make some intelligent choices :-) .

Controversial Art

Vorotnikov sees Voina’s lifestyle, which includes refusing to work and living on food stolen from supermarkets, as part of the group’s art.

Following up on Opportunities

If you take the time to go back and really think about how something began you will see the value of “simply showing up.” Even those events you feel (actually you are convinced!) might be a waste of your time or effort.

Crazy Artist Week..wait, that’s real life!

That’s why so many of the art marketing sites on the Internet are so….unreal :-) . From what we have seen, Very few, if any, are written or presented by artists who are creating art as well as selling it….they fill their sites with tidbits from here and there, from many artists, all of which often makes it seem as though one artist cannot accomplish all the necessary tasks!

The Joy of the ART ZONE!

……Maybe some people call it a Zen thing. I call it the “Art Zone”. No matter how long you have procrastinated or how many chores still need to be done, clients to see, bills to pay, kids’ games to see…….somehow, it all goes away when you are creating.
