 St Mary's School
Oil Study of St Mary's School Chapel

There is no doubt that winter is behind us and we're looking forward to all that Spring offers!  And the best that Spring offers is free :-).  The colors, the smells, the sounds, all signal new beginnings and experiences. Sometimes it is nice to just pause and feel the warmer breezes or see how the rain puddles sparkle in the sunlight. This winter in NC was mild but that doesn't lessen those March feelings of "It's coming!"

In our world of art there is no down time. We participate in and travel to many shows, engage with our collectors,  share our knowledge through classes and workshops but above all, we PAINT

St Marys School Fundraising Event

Painting is just what Steve did recently for St. Mary's School located in Raleigh, NC. This exceptional all girls school has been a driving force in women's education since the 1840's and Steve painted the "St. Mary's Chapel" live at the recent sold out  fund raiser gala held at the landmark Angus Barn in Raleigh on March 2. The lovely 24 x30 framed oil raised a whopping $5,000 for the school when a telephone bid ended the bidding!   His smaller studies were also swooped up by collectors and he is busy creating a few more per request!

Theresa spent the weekend of March 10 in the lovely mountain town of Hendersonville where she was the guest speaker and demonstrator for the  Appalachian Pastel Society.  If you have never experienced early spring on the (very) winding roads around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, NC, do so before the summer tourist traffic makes it hard pause and admire at leisure!

Coming Events

It's much easier to link you to our schedule of shows and events listed each month.  But contact us for specifics  shows if you have questions since the schedule can occassionally change at the last minute. The advantage of two artists in the family is that we can be at separate events which is why you may see one or the other of us at a particular show. Living in the art and horse show worlds,  events can be scheduled by the promoters for the same day or weekend which  leads us to creative solutions!

  Art fun and More...

Last year we embraced not only art workshops but Art fundraisers, mom's night out classes and art and wine events!  We were almost overwhelmed with students eager to just have fun!  To see what we do visit our site Art Student Academy.  We are being asked to come to areas far and wide to hold classes and we work them around our show and art schedule so let us know what you'd like to plan and we can go from there!

Steve's new DVD is out!  A big thanks to all our collectors for embracing his paintings of all sizes! His new DVD is called  Small Paintings for Big Results!

Quote of the Month

“The world is divided into people who do things and people who get the credit. Try, if you can, to belong to the first class. There's far less competition.”
