HappyThanksgiving!  We hope everyone has something positive and heartwarming to feel thankful about this year!  We've all had to make some adjustments and...oh well, life is still good right? So this year it's a turkey with the trimmings and my apple and cranberry pie. As a yearly tribute to my late mother we will also have an oyster casserole. Can't take the seacoast out of the tradition can we?

Autumn in North Carolina has been a bit weird, weather wise. Beautiful sunshine for a few days then torrential rains, then sunshine....I am not sure I would like to live in the northwest states if they experience this much rain.  But again, there was that year with no rain....:-)

Having animals changes things when the weather turns. There is no such thing as glamour or style with a baseball cap, hooded raincoat and heavy rubber boots when slogging through rain and mud. Goats do not like the rain. And they stand huddled, even under the shelter, bleating pitifully at feeding time as though I can do something about it. The inherant problem with goats, even little ones, is that they climb. They jump. In fact, since Taffy and Hershy are now the height of their mother thanks to an Alpine daddy,  they can leap amazing heights (and depths) They will leap from the round bale (that was a mistake) to the backs of the ponies who are not amused. I will try to capture that on video!  Looking back at the August newsletter images, I cannot believe they are the same little goats!

What’s New in the Art Studio
Well the one given is that we continue to paint! We stayed close to home through October and
November. We are darting down to the Draft Horse Classic, a few hours away from us, right after Thanksgiving and I will try my best not to bring home draft horse...but I really am partial to Belgians!

Check our schedule for complete details!

Steve’s 100 paintings in a 100 days  project continues to roll on.I guess we should rename it 200 paintings huh? Sign up for his special blog and join him on his unique journey of art, discovery and giving! It's been popular and  fun. Want to see what's available and what has been sold? Just pop over to the site. Christmas is keeping him busy but there's plenty of time to order something special for yourself or a friend.

Theresa's second studio is located at the Cotton Company in downtown historic Wake Forest.  It is a good mix of gallery and convenience for our portrait clients.
A complete series of our portraits are displayed in the studio and it's open to the public 7 days a week . I don't have to be in the studio for you to view the artwork.
The second Friday of each month is Downtown Wake Forest's Art After Hours. Come see us and enjoy the art, music and refreshments from 6-9 pm!

For 11 years we have partnered with a Gallery at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh NC .  The Village Gallery is in a great central location to meet clients who are coming from the southern regions. Don't be shy in asking us to meet you there rather than drive up to Wake Forest or Franklinton.

We probably don't really need to remind everyone that if a portrait or painting is on your gift list this year, contact us now!

  Christmas Club and Layaway

We never forget that it's our clients who keep us in business! Art IS our business! So when a couple of clients asked us about having a layaway plan in preparation for the Christmas Holidays, we  thought it was a great idea!

Let us know if your portrait or art painting is something you want for a Holiday gift and if you want to make simple, no interest payments up through the week before Christmas!

We certainly accept all the charge cards as well as Paypal and regular checks work too!

Barn of the Month

The unusual round barn are a rarity in the 21st century.  Indiana, more specifically, Fulton County, is the round barn captial of the world.  These barns are a piece of the historical landscape of the Hoosier state. Round barns are indicative of an agragarian society at the turn of the century. The round barn is a long forgotten ingenuity of a farming society that searched for innovative ways to improve their farming techniques.
