This and That Hi,
We waited until March to send out this newsletter simply because we
thought that Spring would be arriving by then. So it was with a bit of
dismay that we awoke to snow on the ground just a few days ago!

What’s New in
the Studio I don't know where to
begin! This is the first winter in awhile we have not trekked to shows
in Florida or driven cross country to California.
Steve is painting his popular mini-series and starting work on a large painting for the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show. The painting will be used for the show's posters and t-shirts, then auctioned off at the Horse Show Gala Ball in August. He will be posting updates as the painting progresses. |

Interesting
Spring Stuff There is something about Spring which, when it finally seems to be getting here, will at some point turn your mind towards spring planting of some kind. Maybe you have gotten as far as thinking you should repot that sad looking houseplant or maybe you are more ambitious and this will be the year you will put in that garden. Planting a large vegetable garden is an experience not to be missed. At some point in your life you have to be able to say "That was the year I had the BIG garden." Trust me. Years from now you will be able to laugh about it. But seriously, what better way to teach kids or grandkids that stuff really grows and is not packaged in the store? So, with that thought in mind, I was intrigued to catch a program about worms. I think it was Dirty Jobs. Love that show. Love Mike Rowe! Maybe it was the folks stuffing cardboard into the worm bins as food for the worms that intrigued me. Maybe it was some distant memory of 8th grade biology and how much earth an earthworm could move (a lot). But the fact was, I was interested enough to do a search and lo and behold, a whole new world of worms and worm lore opened up. Want "free farm help?" Well a cute, easy to read story for non-wormers like me can be found here: http://urbanext.illinois.edu/worms/live/index.html Go on, learn something intriguing today! :-) |

For the Artists We have been helping
other artists for many years and joined forces with the Raleigh Jerry's
store for monthly
art marketing workshops.
Each workshop to date has sold out and it feels good to be able to
offer help, encouragement and support to all the artists who
ask us for help! It's even cooler that some of the local colleges have
asked us to speak to their students :-) |
