Musings

Well, 2007 is in full swing and lots of things have been going on in our world! Hope your world has been  happy, healthy and productive to date!
To condense:
Steve made it to Wellington, FL and Aiken SC and created some beautiful paintings while he was there!  Take a look at a few examples and see if you can identify the locations he was in!

I stayed closer to home this year as my mother was facing some new health issues so I did not go to the HITS shows in Ocala as I did last year.  I flew out to meet a client in Beverly Hills last month  then took a red eye back  when my mother would up in the hospital.  It was her time and she passed the end of February.  All I can say is that Hospice is a wonderful organization and they made all the difference at the end.

And now,  I have shaken off the doldrums and hopped back into action! Work is  wonderful and I have a number of large OIL portraits to complete.
We’re looking forward to spring and all the colors! Locally we will be at shows the next two weekends  at the Hunt complex in Raleigh, NC. Check our schedule to see where we where else we will be!

What’s New

There are a couple of ways to lodge at the shows. One is to find the nearby motels and the other is to bring your own! In my previous years as a dog show handler, I used the whole range-pop-up tent, van, motels, motor home, 5th wheel…and nothing beat bringing your own accommodations!  Theresa’s wisdom says: One should not invest in an RV unless  someone is proficient as a mechanic, plumber, electrician and carpenter! So we splurged and  bought a  travel trailer instead. That way, there is a vehicle available J  We’re looking forward to those shows where we can kick back and relax just yards away from our booths rather than many miles away!

This Month's Laugh
Speaking of trailers and towing...this video is both funny and a warning.....click on the image to the left.

BARN OF THE MONTH

One of the highlights of showing in Raleigh has been working with the dynamic team of Joan MacNair Petty and Glenn Petty of  Triangle Farms.  Together they represent over 30 years each in the horse industry ranging from real estate to horse show management across the country. Their new facility outside of Wake Forest, NC is beautiful and they have put a lot of work into it. Check  out this professional facility at TheFarm !

Quote of the Month:

"The majority of people meet with failure because of their lack of persistence in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail."
