How to Draw Horses

We hope June finds everyone ready for summer and all the good things that come with it! We gave up the idea of a garden. Last year we managed to at least put in some tomato plants. How hard could that be? But I never have figured out exactly what “suckers” are on a tomato plant and so ours seem to grow…and grow and before long we have a huge plant and only a few tomatoes. And I think I know now why my dad said to plant the rows wide enough to run the lawnmower down .J I'm leaning towards that method of planting the tomato plants in hay bales. I could space them wide enough for the riding lawnmower……

What’s New in the Art Studio

Theresa has opened a second studio at the Cotton Company in downtown historic Wake Forest. She has been in the area with studio space since 1991. Our large working studio is right next to our house and it does not get any better than that! However this new one is a perfect mix of gallery and convenience for our portrait clients.  Lovely historic site where there is staff  7 days a week and shopping galore!  A complete series of our portraits are displayed there.
Check it out!

Painting for Blowing Rock Horse Show Theresa is also working on paintings for the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show. The painting on the left celebrates the American Saddlebred portion of the show.

She is currently working on a painting for the Hunter/Jumper phase of the show.

Steve’s NEW creative 100 paintings in a 100 days project is going strong. Collectors are buying and a donation from each sale is made to Danny and Ron‘s Rescue! So each lovely  little 4 x 6 oil sold benefits this hard working charity which has thus far found homes for over 1600 dogs since Hurricane Katrina. These charming oils are available for just $100.00 to his collectors! A great gift idea. Original artwork that you can always find a place for. Visit his 1Hundred Paintings blog to see the paintings to date. Sign up for email updates and join him on his unique journey of art, discovery and charity!

Danny and Ron's Rescue

If you have been to a horse show in the Southeast, you have probably seen a long red golf cart full of dogs. Ron Danta and Danny Robertshaw of Beaver River Farms have been rescuing and finding homes for dogs since Hurricane Katrina.  Check out their website and send a donation or better yet, adopt one of their dogs.

Don't forget Vicky Moon's new book, Equestrian Style.
