This and That

Spring! We think (and hope) that the snow is gone for good after this winter. And Mother Nature must agree with us because why else would the wisteria, dogwoods and azaleas be blooming right now? Stunning!

Our Studio

Down to two male Corgi puppies and I swear there is nothing cuter! We are keeping one for sure but it may be two...their personalities are different yet engaging. It is very easy to get attached to them. ( Like we really need 6 dogs! ) One has gone to Virginia, one to NY and the other to CT.  (sniff)

I must admit that we have enjoyed not traveling the Interstates this spring. Last year our cross country trek to art shows in California from March 28-April 15 took us through everything from tornadoes to blizzards and we completely missed the emergence of early spring here in NC. So we have been all around NC and SC to shows and local events instead this year.

What's New in the Studio

We have moved our Wake Forest Studio from the Cotton Company to a new location!
Our mini gallery at 727 North Main St. has space for our workshops which, although limited in size, will offer that extra square footage that we need. We'll be posting some photos and additional information about our workshops and classes at that location soon. We're working with a photographer and wood sculptor so the creative energy is wonderful! Our own Studio is way-y-y-y out in the beautiful countryside and it's where we create our artwork.

We've been creating! Steve is continuing to paint his popular mini-series and I have just completed several large pastels that are awaiting reviews from the moms and dads.

Mother's Day and Father's Day are always popular for the cameo portraits so keep us in mind for some cost effective portraiture that creates a priceless impact!

For the Artists

We have been helping other artists for many years and joined forces with the Raleigh Jerry's store for monthly art marketing workshops.  Each workshop touches on particulars  and it feels good to be able to offer help, encouragement and  support to all the artists who ask us for help! It's even cooler that some of the local colleges have asked us to speak to their students :-) Look  up Art Career Experts on Facebook and become a fan! Keep an ear open for our painting workshops coming up in Raleigh!

Barn Boat of the Month

We know it's not summer yet but when we realized that Theresa's brother, Cpt. Mike Brown of Beaufort NC was putting the final touches on a beautiful two masted schooner/windjammer he purchased recently, well, thoughts of cruising came to mind. He'll be offering the kind of cruising that can't be found on a cruise ship with a 1000 people, but the kind that can only be found on a 70 ft. sailboat; the tall ships kind of cruise! All that teak and mahogany.....maybe we can even have some kind of exotic art workshops on board during one of his destinations. We would jump at a chance to sail to Ocracoke or down to the Caribbean.....

Quote of the Month

"
The wit makes fun of other persons; the satirist makes fun of the world; the humorist makes fun of himself."
